As well as the pain and discomfort of Bad Barty Crouch these last few days, I think my immune system is generally a bit low at the moment and my hormones appear to be in flux as the painful cystic acne I occasionally get under my jaw has made an appearance. It's not hugely noticeable, but it's painful and I know it's there so it's easy to feel like Chet from Weird Science.
My HRT patches generally keep the cystic acne at bay - when I first started taking HRT a few years ago I remember how happy I was when it cleared it up within a few days - which is why I think something is out of balance.
My Mirena Coil is also due for replacement. It was put in during my last laparoscopy 5 years ago. My GP surgery don't do the procedure and the family planning clinic that does it closest to where I live, has no appointments left this month. I have to call them on 1 February to try to get one.
I wonder if now that my coil is getting old that I'm starting to notice that it's not being as effective. Who knows? It's probably, like most things with the chronic illness juggling act, a perfect storm of different factors.
Now I have an image of trying to juggle in a hurricane in my head.
